This leads to bigger and rounder things... In the meantime, I've decided to make my grenade piles cleaner looking. No more dead bodies flying through the air frightening the children. The steps are simple. Basically build a pile using two players, with one player not moving and keeping his eye on the entire pile. The other player spawns, walks in front of player 1, and gets promptly smacked upside the head. In Halo 2, weapons and grenades DO vanish after they have been dropped and after they have been left unattended. In Halo 2, performance also seems to be affected more by the number of objects lying around, this is the main reason for cleaning up the pile... As soon as you notice the game being affected by the dead bodies and weapons, have the spawned player walk away from the pile and look away. Then have the main player walk carefully to the pile, keeping his eyes on the grenades and not the bodies underfoot. The bodies should vanish. Now have one player watch the pile, and have the other player remove all the weapons from the pile (thank the bungie gods for dual weilding.) Tossing guns a short distance out of view works great. I'm not claiming all of this is necessary... but it makes the pile look good, and was more difficult to do in Halo 1, so why not take advantage? :(
A nice clean pile ^_^
